Capacity

So...Tuesday's math prompt was:

Mrs. Weronko is really thirsty.  Which cup should she use?

The students were given three cups and asked to prove which cup would hold the most water.  Their first plan was to fill all three cups with water and count the sips while they drank each.  Hmmm....

Well, after very full bellies and many trips to the restroom, they came up with a better plan.  They filled the cup they thought had the largest capacity and then used it to fill the other cups.  If the cup overflowed, it had a smaller capacity than the first.  It just goes to show you, two heads are better than one!
